The Devon-vs-Cornwall ritual: warm scones, clotted cream's golden crust, proper jam, and strong tea. Which goes on first is a border dispute — we serve both doctrines.

Method
1
Warm the scones 5 minutes at 150°C; brew the tea properly — loose leaf, 4 minutes, a pot, no bag-in-mug shortcuts today.
5 min — timer available in cooking mode
2
Split scones by hand (a knife compresses the crumb). Devon method: cream first, jam on top. Cornwall: jam first, cream crowning. Serve both, declare neutrality, drink your tea.
Why this works
Clotted cream's golden crust ("the top of the pot") goes to the guest of honor. This is law.
